"The drums!!!"

submission: Delinquent 100
date: June 6, 2009

I really liked the drums from the juicy bass drum to the feel and rythm put into it i loved them! The strings were also well implmented and also contained a little a feel. Naturally the rythms made the piece as good as it is. The chords were "coloured" originally and were therfore enjoyable.

Overall a nice merge of sounds.

Last Chance (Dance RMX)

"Hi its me"

date: April 19, 2009

Firstly the choice of instruments is exceptional. I particulalry liked the deep synth. I thought the drums were interesting in a good way. I like the way youve changed the song form mine and i am dead jealous of the sytnh sounds you can make. I am honoured that ud remix one of MY song :). One thing i d suggest is do something with the drums or make the synths do something to catch the listener, like an interesting drum fill.

dude23 is absolutely right, if you were interested you could make money EASY in film scores.

I appreciate the support though I have a long way to go before I can be part of the small but yet elite group of film scorers.

[\A Hero's Last Stand/]

"again"

date: April 6, 2009

you have prduced a song that could be used in a film, the same bassically applies to what i said in my last review. Though a heroes death, mabye not.

Author's Response:

A pleasure to have repeat listeners as music is more about the listeners and not the producers. You can make the greatest piece but if there was no one to listen to. It was all for naught. Thank you.

This song is amazing. The mixing is very well done. The chords are interesting (in a good way). The instrumentation is excellent. It never lost my inerest. I would be pleased to hear this in a film, seriously. In fact you could make serious money with the songs you pump out.

to summarize one of the best songs on newgrounds, in fact many of yours are.

Silent Guardian

"excellent"

submission: Silent Guardian
date: November 5, 2008

Very good instrument choices . Reminds of the batman films with Hans Zimmer composing!

Sounds very real and keeps moving and changing which is good. The sought of synthy sound at the end and start was nice too. All this plus what others have said.

also i was wondering what vstis ur using

November 6, 2008

Author's Response:

Interesting you say that... I think I was emulating some devices of Hans Zimmer's composition in this one, since he is known for epic themes, after all! Also it was during a songwriting challenge and any ideas I could muster were made quicker when inspired by other music :)
The VSTs used here are EWQLSO Gold Pro XP and EWQL StormDrum. Google will find those no problem.

"WOW"

submission: Downtown Strut
date: March 8, 2008

If u made this then i am impressed. Amazing funk song for this site.

too short though.

March 8, 2008

Author's Response:

Yes, this is an original, or as original as this type of thing can be (it is a bit contrived, in my opinion, but I am very critical of my own work). The short length is due to this tune's specific use...it's only a little "walking" theme for the protagonist (think of any of the Black detective movies from the 60's, 70's and 80's, like "Shaft," or even "Beverly Hills Cop") of a little indie flick I'm scoring, so it doesn't need to be of any great length.

Thanks for the great review, and best to you!

.:( In The Arena ):.

"great"

date: March 8, 2008

this is great, really.

i thought it was cool, i particulary liked the bass. perfect for the purpose you suggested. i liked the guitar. the intro sounds cool as well.

if you used loops i am not so impressed.

March 8, 2008

Author's Response:

I used no loops, only a few sound effects here and there, mainly the "explosion" type sounds at 1:06, which have been heavily modified anyway from their originals to suit my purpose in the song! Everything else is done by me - I'm extremely anti-loop. All the music is original.

Thanks for the review!
